A Reflection in Honor of MLK from Bishop Berlin
The members of The Florida Conference Cabinet went on a learning retreat in December. We met in St. Augustine under the able leadership of Rev. David Williamson and Rev. Laverne March, who offer retreats and experiences that “inspire and support clergy, congregations and communities for the healing work of antiracism as an act of Christian discipleship.” Read more of Bishop Berlin’s reflection here.
Optimism for the UMC after the Africa Forum The Africa Forum invited guests from parts of the global connection to share insights about the work of The United Methodist Church and observe their meeting. The conversation belonged to the African delegates, who clearly desired to remain aligned with The United Methodist Church despite differing approaches to some social and denominational issues. AC24 Resolutions Due - January 31 Resolutions to the 2024 session of Annual Conference must be submitted by January 31, as per Par. 206 2(d) of the Standing Rules of the Florida Conference. This year, our schedule includes several critical items of business that require attention and voting, and will impact time available for discussing resolutions. Therefore, we encourage you to assess whether the proposed matter might be more effectively handled by a specific committee.
