Hello friends,
Do any of you find yourself wondering if we’ll ever know a time when an email “finding [the recipient] well” is a higher likelihood than not? I know I have.
In worship last week, my local church recited A New Creed from the United Church of Canada (UMH #883). This is my favorite of the ones we cycle through. (Yes, I am aware of how nerdy it is that I have a favorite creed.)
I often find myself thinking about the opening of the statement: “We are not alone, we live in God’s world.”
What a gift to know that even when an email finds its recipient unwell, we know we aren’t alone. In Psalm 139:7, the psalmist writes “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?”
As we move into Lent, the season of self-examination, reflection, and preparation for the coming of Easter, knowing that God is with us always, that the Holy Spirit is moving in and through us, is both a comfort and motivator. I hope you’ll spend the time between Ash Wednesday and Easter finding your way to connect with the God who has created and is creating.
