Bishop’s Webinar

Join the Florida Conference’s Beloved Community as they share a conversation with Bishop Tom Berlin on October 4 at 12pm via Zoom. Bishop Berlin will share some of his experiences as a pastor in Virginia, what he’s learn since coming to Florida and an update on how our conference is making anti-racism a core part of its mission. Moving Membership
Many lay folks remain committed to the United Methodist Church even as they find themselves in congregations that are choosing disaffiliation. It is possible to remain in the denomination by moving your membership to another UM congregation or to the Florida Conference General Roll. The National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry was the first of the racial/ethnic plans to be established in The United Methodist Church. WATCH: Memorial Service for Bishop Talbert
Retired United Methodist Bishop Melvin G. Talbert, who focused much of his ministry on fighting racism and discrimination against LGBTQ people, died Aug. 3 at age 89. A memorial service celebrating the life, labor and legacy of Bishop Melvin G. Talbert will be at 11 a.m. U.S. Central time Sept. 30 at Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville.
