Lay Servant Ministries training…

1. Creates opportunities for spiritual growth.

2. Builds new relationships outside our church walls.

3. Inspires others to a deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship.

4. Provides opportunities to learn and recommit to scripture and the doctrine, heritage, organization, and life of The UMC.

5. Supports our witness to the Christian faith through spoken communication.

6. Inspires us to lead within a church and community.

7. Supports our ability to provide caring a ministry.

And through continued training and support, we are able to undertake more functions.

8. We are able to provide leadership, assistance, and support to the program emphases of the church or other United Methodist ministry.

9. We are able to lead meetings for prayer, training, study, and discussion when requested. 

10. We are able to conduct, or assist in conducting, services of worship, preach the Word, or give addresses when requested. 

11. We are able to work with appropriate committees and teams that provide congregational and community leadership or foster caring ministries.

12. We are able to teach the Scriptures, doctrine, organization, and ministries of The United Methodist Church.
